Description:
A tall, erect, succulent herbs, stem stout, pale, grooved and striate, glabrous. Leaves alternate, 3-11 x 1.5-5 cm, ovate, obtuse, notched at the tip, glabrous, base cuneate; main nerves slender, prominent beneath; petioles 2.5-6 cm long. Flowers in axillary clusters and in terminal, simple and branched spikes; bracteoles shorter than the tepals. Perianth 1.5 mm long; tepals 3, linear-oblong, obtuse or acute. Fruit an utricle, 2.5 mm long, broadly ovate, acute, indehiscent; styles 3, very short; seed 1.5 mm across, lenticular, smooth, shining, brown-black.
