Description:
Stout, subshrubby; indumentum grey woolly. Leaves elliptic to lanceolate, 10 x 2 cm, chartaceous, densely woolly, prominently 5-ribbed, base narrow, semi-amplexicaul, apex acute. Corymbs to 13 cm wide; peduncle to 6 cm. Capitula white with yellow centre, 4 mm wide; stalk 3 mm; receptacle less than 2 mm wide. Phyllaries 3-5-seriate, white; outer ones oblong-elliptic, 4 mm; inner ones oblong-lanceolate, 3.5 mm. Pappus 15-20, bristly, 2.5 mm long. Bisexual florets 15-20 in 3 or 4-seriate. Corolla yellowish, glanded; tube 2 mm; lobes 5. Stamens 5; style arms distally thickened. Pistillate florets 20-25 in 2 or 3-series. Corolla tube 2 mm; lobes 5. Achenes less than 1 mm, faintly ribbed, spinulose.
