Description:
Tufted, compact herb; branchlets woolly, ascending, striate; tender parts densely white cottony, interspersed with long pilose hairs. Leaves alternate, lanceolate, to 1.8 x 0.3 cm, 1-nerved, base decurrent, margin reflexed, apex acuminate, woolly and ascending when young, glabrescent and deflexed with age. Corymbs terminal, to 2 cm wide, rounded, heterogamous, disciform. Capitulum 5.5 mm wide, yellow. Involucre 4-or 5-seriate. Phyllaries oblong-spathulate, to 3.5 x 1 mm, imbricate, thickened below, scarious above, whitish. Receptacle naked. Pappus 1.5 mm. Pistillate florets 7-18. Corolla yellow, 2.2. mm, 4-lobed. Style 2.3 mm. Bisexual florets 17-25. Corolla 2.4 mm, 4-or 5-lobed. Stamens 1.6 mm. Style 2.2 mm.
