  Description: Annuals. Culms 13-30 cm high, decumbent. Leaves 1-3.5 x 0.2-0.4 cm, lanceolate, apex acuminate, covered with tubercled hairs; sheath keeled, covered with tubercled hairs; ligules ovate, membranous. Racemes paired, 2-3.5 cm long. Spikelets 4-5 mm long, oblanceolate, yellowish-brown, awned. Lower glume 3-5 x 1.5-2 mm, obovate, apex retuse, ciliolate towards upper half, subcoriaceous. Upper glume 3-4 x 1-1.5 mm, linear, bifid and ciliolate at apex, keeled. Lower floret empty. Upper floret bisexual. First lemma 3-4 x 1.5-2 mm, ovate-oblong, apex truncate, hyaline. Palea 3-4 mm long, hyaline. Second lemma 3-4 x 0.5 mm, linear, awned; awn 1-1.5 cm long. Palea c. 2 x 1 mm, ovate-oblong, hyaline. Stamens 2; anthers yellow. Stigmas cream.
