Description:
Diffuse herb; branchlets glabrescent. Leaves even-pinnate, to 12 x 6 cm; petiole to 6 cm; stipules to 4 cm, linear-lanceolate, acute; leaflets 4, opposite, elliptic, to 5 x 3 cm, subsessile, base cuneate, apex obtuse, mucronate, glabrescent. Flower axillary, solitary, 1.5 cm wide. Calyx 5-lobed; upper 4 connate, lower one free. Petals yellow with red nerves, clawed; standard orbicular, 1.5 cm wide; wings obovate, 1 x 0.5 cm, auricled; keels oblong, 1 x 0.4 cm, beak curved. Stamens 8, monadelphous; sheath 5 mm, 4 basifixed elongate anthers alternating with 4 versatile shorter ones. Ovary subsessile; style elongate, incurved; stigma minute. Pod sausage-shaped, 1-3-seeded, constricted between seeds, but not divided into segments, indehiscent, geocarpic; seeds ovoid or oblong.
