Description:
Cluster forming, bushy palms. Stem is about 3 m high, very slender with about 3 cm in diam. at base. Leaves pinnate, arching, 1-1.5 m long, leaflets, fairly broad, terminal leaflets jointed. Inflorescence interfoliar, covered with a bract, to 40 cm long when unopened, flower branches white to pale yellow, male flowers minute, creamy white, fragrant, female flowers larger than male flowers. Fruit orange or scarlet coloured.
