Description:
Twining herbs. Branches angular. Leaves 7-16 x 2.5-5 cm, oblong-lanceolate, long acuminate at apex, truncate to subcordate at base, 5-ribbed. Inflorescence few-flowered monochasial racemes. Bracts minute. Perianth tube 0.2-0.25 m long, with bulbous base 0.5-0.6 cm across; limb brown, oblique, 1-lipped, 2-2.5 cm long, 0.6-1 cm wide, ovate; margins reflexed. Gynostemium included in the bulbous portion. Stylar column 6-lobed. Capsules 1.5-2 x 1-1.5 cm, ovoid, drooping, 6-ridged and valved, splitting at upper part and hanging like a basket. Seeds triangular, c 0.3 cm across.
