Description:
Large glabrous climbers, old stem with warty tubercles, tender parts yellow, glabrous. Leaves to 15 x 5 cm, oblong, abruptly acuminate, base acute glabrous; nerves many, parallel, close, forming an intramarginal vein; petiole 1 cm long, yellow. Flowers in axillary panicled cymes; peduncle to 6 cm long; pedicels to 3 mm long, slender; bracts small ovate; calyx 1 mm long, lobes ovate, acute, united at the lower half; corolla yellow, 5 mm long, glabrous, lobes small, obovate, twisted; stamens 5, included, inserted inside the middle of the tube; ovary 1-celled, ovules many, stigma oblong. Fruit a berry, 7 x 3 cm; seeds many, embedded in the yellow pulp.
