Description:
Stems basally woody, much-branched above, the branches pilose. Leaves closely condensed, sessile, ovate-lanceolate to ovate, 2.5-9 mm long, 1-6 mm wide, apically acute, basally cuneate, rounded or subcordate, gray-green, pubescent with appressed indument. Inflorescence of compacted, subsessile bracteate flower clusters at the tips of the branchlets. Flowers sessile in the upper leaf axils, forming short compact spikes; sepals ovoid, 3-4 mm long, abruptly acute, silky pubescent; corolla 5-6 mm long, white with a pink flush on the lobes, campanulate, the tube and oblong-ovate lobes about equal in length; styles and stamens exserted from the tube for 2-4 mm. Fruits capsular, ovoid, 3-4 mm long; seeds usually 1, glabrous and shining, dark brown.
