  Description: Erect rigid, branched shrubs, to 2.5 m tall; stem terete, densely fulvous or grey-silky tomentose. Leaves simple, alternate, 6-9 x 1.6-2.5 cm, oblanceolate or narrowly elliptic-oblong, apex obtuse, apiculate, tapering to acute base, adpressed silky-hairy, more beneath, more or less glaucous beneath; nerves obscure; petiole 2-3 mm long; stipules linear, persistent. Flowers 1.5-2.5 cm long, yellowish, in axillary or terminal panicles; peduncle to 10 cm long, silky-hairy; pedicels 1 cm long; bract 1; bracteoles 2, each 6 x 3 mm, ovate, acute, persistent, similar to bract, silky without. Calyx 5-lobed, connate, 1.2 cm long, hairy without; upper 2 large, ovate, obtuse; lower 3 narrower. Petals 5, to 2 cm long; standard elliptic, acute, shortly clawed, silky-pubescent, without; wings little shorter than keels, ciliate near base. Stamens 10, monadelphous, split above; anthers dimorphic, alternate longer, Ovary sessile or subsessile, globose, 1-locular; style curved, silky pubescent on lower half and on ovary; stigma dilated. Pod 6 x 5 mm, enclosed; seeds 1 or 2, ca. 5 mm long, curved, violet-brown, shining.
