Description:
Climbers, stem slender, sparsely prickly, hirsute, at length glabrescent; tuber single. Leaves alternate, compound, rarely a few of the uppermost leaves simple, rusty-hairy; leaflets 5-7, rarely 3 near the tips, coarse, obovate or elliptic, acuminate, base acute, lateral asymmetric, smaller and wider in proportion, up to 25 x 10 cm, pubescent below; petioles up to 25 cm long. Spikes long, rusty-tomentose; male flowers in 1-2-nate spikes on long racemes. Fertile stamens 3, staminodes 3. Ovary inferior, 3-quetrous, 3-celled; styles 3, short. Capsules 3-winged, reflexed upwards; seeds winged at the base only.
