  Description: Stem to 3 cm thick, with papery epidermis(when dry). Petiole to 35 cm, pulvinate at both ends, sheath running to upper pulvinus and soon disintegrating to leave a reticulate network of intertwined venation. Leaf-blade to 50 x 30 cm, deeply and regularly pinnately cleft, with distinctive pin-pricks along midrib of lower leaf surface (sometimes scattered). Peduncle to 12 x 10 cm, finally withering. Spadix sessile, 15 x 3 cm. Ovules 2.
