Description:
Shrubs with a short rootstock; stem to 60 cm high, dichotomously branched, subquadrangular at base, 4-angular in upper half. Leaves broadly ovate to suborbicular, rounded or truncate at base, subacute to acute, 3(-5)-nerved, the nerves prominent beneath, shortly petiolate; petioles 2-4 mm long. Flowers solitary in forks of branches and leaf-axils, very occasionally in terminal, dichasial cymes. Pedicels slightly nodding, 1.5-2.6 cm long. Bracts ovate-lanceolate, 2-11 x 1.25-6 mm, foliaceous above. Calyx lobes 5, lanceolate, to 7 x 1.75 mm, long-acuminate; wings in fruiting calyx 2-3 mm wide, rounded at base. Corolla white; lobes 5, obliquely erect, oblong-elliptic, 12-16 x 6-8 mm, acute. Anthers uniformly broad, 4-5 mm long. Capsule ovoid to elliptic, 8-10 mm long.
