Description:
Erect shrubs, 3-4 m high; stems sparsely stellate-pubescent or glabrate, gland-dotted. Leaves alternate, ovate-orbicular, 7-18 cm long, cordate at base, 3-7 lobed; lobes ovate-lanceolate, entire at margin, glabrous with a single elliptic nectary on midnerve beneath; petioles 10-20 cm long, glabrescent, gland-dotted; stipules falcate or lanceolate, 1-1.5 cm long, slightly auricled at base and glabrous. Flower axillary, solitary; pedicel ca 2 cm long, with nectaries just below epicalyx. Epicalyx lobes 3, ovate, cordate at base, 4-6 cm long, laciniate at margin, gland-dotted, accrescent. Calyx cupular, truncate at apex, gland-dotted. Corolla funnel-shaped, yellow; petals obovate, glabrous. Staminal column ca 2.5 mm long, glabrous, antheriferous above. Ovary ovoid, ca 8 mm long, gland-dotted, glabrous, 3-loculed; styles ca 2.5 cm long, glabrous; stigmas linear, decurrent. Capsules elongate, 3-6 cm long, glabrous; seeds subglobose, ca 7 mm across with white cotton.
