Description:
Coarse shrubs; stem articulated by persistent stipules. Leaves to 18 x 8 mm, lanceolate, acute, very coriaeous, nearly sessile, margins recurved, nerves 4 pairs, strong, thick, reddish, tomentose, stipule 7 mm long, teeth 6, unequal, hispid. Cymes 1.5-3 cm across, terminal, densely clustered, hirsute. Flowers 9 mm long, sessile, 10-20 in a cymes; calyx campanulate, lobes acute corolla tube slender; lobes oblong, pink, margin recurved; stamens included, anthers linear. Capsule 6 x 4 mm, obovoid, pubescent; seeds obovoid, black.
