  Description: Stout pendulous epiphytes, stem terete, glabrous. Leaves simple, opposite, to 7 x 4 cm, elliptic, acuminate, base acute, thick and coriaceous; nerves 6-8 pairs, horizontal; petiole to 2 cm long. Flowers yellowish white, 1.5 cm across, in lateral pedunculate umbels; peduncles to 1 cm long, stout; pedicels 2.5 cm long. Calyx deeply lobed to the base, lobes 2.5 mm long, ovate, ciliolate. Corolla ca. 2 cm across, lobes ovate, margins revolute. Corona of 5 fleshy lobes, deep purple, 6 x 6 mm, lobes 3 mm high, subglobose, stellately radiating from the column. Follicles 6-9 x 0.6 cm, slender, oblong, slightly tapering towards the ends; seeds 4 mm long, coma to 5 cm long.
