Description:
Trees; bark pinkish grey to dark brown; scaly. Leaves peltate; lobes 3 or 5, 10-30 x 6-15 cm, broadly elliptic to obovate, apex acute, dark green above, pale bluish green below; petiole to 32 cm long. Inflorescence lax, usually single or few together. Male flowers: perianth divided to more or less halfway, greenish white to dark purplish inside at base; filaments white; anthers yellow. Female flowers: Perianth green tinged with reddish; ovary smooth. Capsule c. 3 cm across, globose, warty, without wings. Seeds c. 12 mm long; caruncle yellow.
