  Description: Shrubs to small trees; branchlets subterete. Leaves opposite, 3-8 x 0.6-1.5 cm, narrowly elliptic, very cuneate at the base and narrowed into a short petiole, obtuse to rounded at the apex, coriaceous, more or less dull on both sides. Inflorescence thyrsoid to umbel-shaped, many-flowered, 10-20 mm diameter, sessile or with up to 10 mm long primary axes at the nodes on the branches below the leaves; pedicels 1-3 times the calyx length. Calyx 2-3.4 mm wide, smooth or shallowly striate inside, truncate or shallowly 4-lobed. Petals widely elliptic-ovate, blue. Anthers 1.3-1.6 mm long; connective with a gland. Berry 4 mm across, globose, glabrous.
