Description:
A shrub or small tree. Branchlets subterete. Leaves elliptic or elliptic-ovate, 5-10 x 2-5 cm, cuneate at the base and narrowed into an up to 5 mm long petiole, acuminate to shortly caudate and obtuse to rounded at the very apex, with indistinct intramarginal and lateral veins, coriaceous, more or less shining above; foliar sclereids narrowly filiform. Inflorescences condensed or thyrsoid to umbel-shaped, 5-12 mm diam., sessile or with upto 4 mm long primary axes in the leaf axils and at the nodes on the branches below the leaves. Pedicels 0 or shorter than the calyx. Buds obtuse to rounded, with exposed petals. Calyx 3-4.5 mm wide, often papillose, deeply furrowed with radiating wings inside, shallowly 4-lobed; calyx lobes with a thin, scarious margin. Anthers 1.6-2 mm long; connective with a gland. Fruit globose.
