Description:
Erect or climbing shrubs, with grey bark and long flexuous, cylindrical, divaricate branches. Leaves opposite, 7.5-12 x 5-9 cm, elliptic-oblong or ovate, apex shortly acuminate, more or less pubescent above, pubescent on the nerves beneath, base rounded or tapering into the petiole; lateral nerves 8-12 pairs; petioles 0.6-2.5 cm long; stipules paired, 6 mm long, linear-lanceolate, very acute, hairy. Flowers, tubular-funnel-shaped, yellowish green outside and orange-red within, one calyx lobe occasionally becoming white and foliaceous, borne in terminal cymes. Fruits (berries) rounded or ovoid, glabrous, 1-1.3 cm in diam.
