Description:
Shrubs. Leaves opposite, 1.5-3 x 0.7- cm, oblong-obovate, obtuse at apex, acute to cuneate at base, clothed in pale prostrate hairs on both the surfaces; lateral nerves 3-5 pairs, inconspicuous; petiole 2-3 mm long, grooved on the upper side. Flowers axillary, solitary; hypanthium 3-4 mm long, longitudinally ribbed, lobes 6, alternating with 6 small appendages. Petals 4-5 mm long, pink, obovate, wrinkled. Stamens 12, alternately long and short. Ovary 3-locular at the base and 1-locular towards the apex. Stigma globular. Fruits 5-6 x 4-5 mm, nearly globose, circumciss, calyx lobes and style persistent; seeds numerous, about 3 x 2 mm, angular-cuneate, margined.
