Description:
Deciduous tree with rounded crown; bark fissured; branchlets glabrescent. Leaves ovate to ovate-oblong, to 15 x 10 cm, base truncate, margin fine-serrate, apex acuminate; petiole to 5.5 cm. Corymbs on short shoots with upto 10 flowers on slender pubescent pedicels to 5.5 cm. Flowers 3 cm wide. Calyx turbinate, 6 mm long; lobes ovate-acute, 6 x 4 mm, serrate on margins. Petals rounded, 1.4 cm wide, white, margins wavy, deciduous. Stamens c. 20, in 2 obscure whorls; filaments 7 mm; disk yellow. Ovary globose, 5-celled; ovules 2, basal; styles 5, each 8 mm. Drupe pyriform, to 7 cm wide; mesocarp very gritty.
