  Description: Shrubs to small trees, to 4 m high, young parts greyish pubescent. Leaves alternate; rachis (including petiole) 4-6 cm long; leaflets 2 pairs, 4-16.5 x 2-7 cm, upper pair largest, obliquely ovate, acute-acuminate, very unequal-sided at the base, glabrous above, puberulous beneath, membranous; petioles ca 3 cm long, pubescent; petiolules ca 3 mm long; stipules 3-4 mm long, linear, acute, pubescent, caducous. Gland solitary, nipple-shaped, between lowest pair of leaflets. Flowers in short, slender, 4-5 cm long racemes, terminal, congested, corymbiform; bracts linear or lanceolate-subulate, 2-5 mm long, deciduous. Sepals about 1 cm long, oblong, membranous. Petals 2-3 x 2 cm, obovate or suborbicular, pubescent externally, yellow; claw 1-3 mm long. Fertile stamens 7, anthers of three lower filaments 5-6 mm long, puberulous, with 1-porose beak, thick, strongly curved; anthers of 4 filaments 4-6 mm long, slightly incurved, with 2-porose beak; staminodes absent or reduced. Ovary curved, appressed pubescent. Pods 15-25 x 1-1.5 cm, subterete, pendent, slightly annulate, long-beaked, not septate; margins broad, flat, raised; seeds 2-seriate, ovoid-oblong, compressed; areole oblong or elliptic, 2.7-4 x 1.5-2.3 mm.
