  Description: Shrubs, up to 2.5 m high, hirsute initially, becoming puberulous with age; stem zigzag. Leaves alternate, rachis (including petiole) 3.5-14.5 cm long, hairy; leaflets 3-5 pairs, 1-9.5 x 0.6-3.5 cm, ovate or ovate-elliptic, acute-subacuminate, oblique or rounded at base, ciliate, hirsute; gland solitary, at the base of petiole, sessile, ca 2 mm long, ovoid or subglobose; sipules 5-7 mm long, lanceolate, acuminate, hirsute. Racemes axillary, few-flowered, passing into sub-terminal panicles; pedicels 0.8-1.5 cm long (2.5 cm in fruit). Sepals ovate or boat-shaped, obtuse, hirsute outside. Petals yellow, ca 1.5 x 1.2 cm, obovate. Fertile stamens 7; two anthers 6-8 mm long, falcate, on ca 8 mm long flattened filaments; 4 lateral anthers 4-5.5 mm long, on ca 4 mm long filaments; 1 anther much smaller and narrow; all anthers dehiscing by apical pores; staminodes 3. Ovary hirsute with white or pale appressed hairs; style glabrous, recurved at the tip; stigma oblique, hairy. Pods 1.5-9.5 x 0.4-0.6 cm, linear, compressed, straight or slightly curved, hirsute, sutures not distinct; seeds ca 4 mm in diameter, ovate-suborbicular, compressed, brown; areole oblong, on both faces.
