Description:
Large trees, to 25 m tall, bark pale brown, shallowly flaking; branches pendulous; twigs rather slender, at first quadrangular, becoming terete, smooth, pale brown. Leaves opposite, 5.5-10 x 1.8-5 cm, elliptic, frequently subplicate, chartaceous or thinly coriaceous base obtuse or subcordate, apex caudate-acuminate, margin shallowly subrevolute, undulate; lateral nerves many, with short intermediates, prominently reticulate beneath, more obscurely so above; intramarginal nerve obscurely 2-tiered, the inner c. 1-2 mm within margin, rather straight; midrib slender but prominent beneath; petiole 1-3 mm long, slender. Cymes to 8 cm long, termninal or axillary, lax, spreading; flowers white. Calyx 4 x 3 mm, globet-shaped, lobes 4 or 5, obscure, obtuse. Petals 3 x 2 mm, elliptic, concave. Stamens many, 4 mm long. Fruit -1 cm across, globose, woody, with prominent 3 mm diameter unlobed calyx limb.
