Description:
Large shrubs, branchlets terete, glabrous, Leaves opposite, to 11 x 5.5 cm elliptic to oblanceolate, acuminate, base acute, glabrous, glabrous below; lateral nerves 5-7 pairs; petiole to 1.2 cm long; stipule ovate, 3 mm long, deciduous. Flowers in terminal pubescent corymbose cymes. Calyx pubescent, limb 5-lobed, lobes subequal, obtuse. Corolla creamy white, tube 5 mm long, sparsely hairy at mouth, lobes oblong, 5 mm long, reflexed. Ovule 1 in each cell; style sparsely hairy, stigma fusiform, much exserted. Berry subglobose, shortly apiculate, 1 x 0.8 cm; seeds deeply concave, smooth shining; endosperm horny.
