Description:
Tree, 4-5 m tall; branchlets ferruginous-pubescent. Leaves usually opposite, elliptic or obovate, 8-16 x 2-5 cm, glabrous above, sparsely pubescent beneath, acuminate at apex, cuneate at base; stipules ovate-oblong, bifid at apex. Flowers white in axillary and terminal panicles; bracteoles subulate, short. Calyx tube glabrous, small, persistent; corolla-tube .3 cm long, villous within. Stamens 4-5; anthers versatile, exserted. Capsules globose, 2-valved.
