Description:
Culms tufted, to 50 cm. Leaf-blades 15-25 x 0.1-0.7 cm, erect, pilose; ligule to 2 mm; auricles 0; basal sheaths flabellate. Racemes c. 3, terminal on the culm, to 6 cm; internodes filiform, rim 0. Sessile spikelets oblong, to 6 mm. Lower glume flat, keels lateral, acute, 5-nerved; wings 0; upper glumes wingless. Upper lemma 2-toothed; awns to 15. Pedicelled spikelets elliptic, to 6 mm.
