Description:
Culms tufted, geniculate, to 25 cm; nodes glabrous. Leaf-blades flat, 1-3.5 x 0.2-0.35 cm, densely tubercled-ciliate on both surfaces and margins; ligule membranous, to 0.2 cm. Racemes paired, to 2.5 cm; peduncle well exserted; joints to 0.2 cm, flattened, margins brown ciliate. Spikelets to 0.5 cm. Lower glume oblong-truncate, to 0.45 cm, glabrous, 7-veined; median vein, and occasionally two lateral veins, projecting into hyaline upper margin; upper margin lacerate and ciliolate; upper glume lanceolate-oblong, to 0.5 cm, sparsely ciliate; lower lemma to 0.47 cm, scarious, paleate; upper lemma to 0.45 cm, awn to 2 cm.
