Description:
Solitary moderate sized rattans; stem with sheaths up to 5 cm in diameter and without sheaths to 3 cm. Leaves to 2 cm long; leaf sheath green, armed with sturdy, bulbous based spines of 1 cm long; leaflets are arranged regularly. Inflorescence to 2.5 m long, partial inflorescence to 30 cm long. Fruit 1 x 0.5 cm, oblate, scales straw yellow when dry, channelled in the middle and arranged in 21 rows.
