Description:
Shrubs; branchlets stout, covered with brown bark. Leaves opposite, obovate-elliptic, to 25 x 15 cm, subcoriaceous, base cuneate to rounded, apex acute; petiole to 1.5 cm; stipules ovate, 6 mm, basally connate, apex acute-acuminate. Flowers 25-35(50) per node, borne on 2 or 3 congested fascicles; pedicel to 3.5 mm; bracts ovate, 2.5 mm; bracteoles minute. Calyx 5-toothed. Corolla white, 2.5 cm wide; tube to 14 mm; lobes 5, each 1.2 x 0.3 cm. Stamens 5. Drupe oblong, 1.8 x 1.5 cm.
