  Description: Scandent shrubs; root-climber, internodes elongate. Leaves spirally arranged, 8-25 x 5-20 cm, ovate to elliptic, suddenly acuminate, the tip 20 mm long, base shallowly cordate to rounded-subtruncate and cuneate, entire, membranous, smooth; lateral veins 4-6 pairs, 3-8 intercostals, rather lax and slightly raised below; basal veins 2 (-3)pairs, ½-2/3 lamina, with 2 slight glands thinly coriaceous, glabrous or with sericeous; petiole 35-100 mm long, often with a slight gland at the node; bathyphylls ovate-elliptic, cordate, often with overlapping basal lobes, rather long petiolate. Figs axillary, solitary, occasionally paired; peduncle 10-32 mm; basal bracts 1.5-2 mm long, ovate, acute; pedicel 0-10 mm long; body 20-25 mm wide, globose or pyriform, the plane or slightly depressed orifice closed by many small appressed apical bracts in a rosette 3-4 mm wide; internal bristles abundant; no sclerotic cells in the fig-wall. Tepals 4, red, free, glabrous. Male flowers in one ring, sessile; stamens 2(-3), the filaments free, the anthers shortly mucronate. Gall and female flowers sessile or with white pedicels 2.7 mm long; gall-ovary dull red-brown or red-spotted, female ovary white or red-spotted, sessile; gall-style short, female style long and shortly bifid. Seed 1.7-2 mm long, rather plump, slightly keeled at one or both ends; embryo straight. Leaves with cystoliths only on the lower side; no hypodermis; vascular bundles not trabeculate, except in the main veins.
